Tale as Old As Time
about us
some days it feels like we’re just winging it… other days we actually are… we’re doing it together, on a boat, with a baby in the belly and a barefoot toddler climbing the rigging. we’re living in a slip for now… slowly getting our floating home ready for the open sea.
we’re a couple of dreamers raising our little crew aboard a 41’ sailboat in oceanside harbor. our boat life isn’t tropical anchorages and sunset sails… at least not yet. right now, we are in the thick of… planning… upgrading… fixing… learning… and staring at a rusty bolt wondering what it even does.
we bought our freeport islander ketch 41 with a vision of crossing the pacific one day. but first? a whole lotta prep. we’re still tied to the dock for now… literally in a slip… while we chip away at the never-ending to-do list. replacing steering chains to chasing electrical gremlins, every fix gets us a little closer to untied freedom.
our journey is in the “getting ready” chapter… it’s full of heart, hustle, and a fair share of engine tantrums. we want to document it all—the wins, the whoopsies, and share the thrills of learning and raising a family on the water.
we’re no experts… we are learning as we go, one dock line and diesel drip at a time.
if you’re into real stories, slow progress, and big salty dreams… we’re so glad you found us.
